I know I just got a new lens last month (8mm fisheye), but I already have my eyes set on the next one: a Canon 50mm f/1.4 (or maybe another brand with the same focal length). Considering the other things I’m saving up for right now, this won’t come until 2013 though. Then again, I do have some weddings I’ll be DJing in the next few months. Hmmm…

As for wanting a fixed/prime lens, I definitely agree with Reason #2 in the video (at 02:50) — It Makes You Think. After shooting with the same lens for a year (18-135mm) and finally using one with a fixed focal length, I realized just how lazy and dependent I am on having the ability to zoom in on a subject. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad I started off with what I had, but it’s time to step it up.

After I get this lens, the next thing I’ll save up for is a really good tripod. Why do I always pick the expensive hobbies?! lol.
